Mitzvah Days

Tikkun Olam is an important Jewish concept literally translated as “repairing” or “healing the world.”   Today, it commonly refers to social action, charitable works, and the pursuit of social justice aimed at improving society and alleviating human suffering.

The JFLC began hosting annual Mitzvah Days over 15 years ago, with a full day of projects around the community.

More recently, those full days have become Mini Mitzvah events which are held throughout the year. These provide members of the community multiple opportunities to contribute to local organizations such as the Eugene Masonic Cemetery, Food for Lane County, Square One Villages, St. Vincent de Paul, Head Start of Lane County, Burrito Brigade and more.
